New BMS Chairman Begins Tenure

BMS, the leading independent reinsurance intermediary,  today welcomed Alexander Johnston as non-executive Chairman of the Group, following the retirement of Graham McKean, one of the original founders.

Alexander Johnston commented "I am very much looking forward to helping BMS build on its successes.  I am an outsider to the re/insurance industry, but have spent all my working life in financial services and understand many of the issues that arise in this type of business.  I look forward to contributing to the next phase of development of the Group."

Alexander Johnston - Editors' Notes

Until 2003 Alexander Johnston was a Managing Director at Lazard, London. He has been on the board of BMS Associates Ltd since the beginning of 2005. Among his other activities, he is a member of the Competition Commission and an external member of the Finance Committee of Cambridge University.
