Benefits of the scheme
Work placements
During your two years you will undertake at least four challenging and varied placements, typically lasting around six months. The placements are likely to be within:
-
Executive Management Group, working for the Chief Executive
-
Broking
-
An overseas broking office
-
Technical Support (Claims & Treaty Accounts)
-
Risk Management & Compliance
|
The graduate scheme is a great foundation and gives you a well rounded knowledge of the broking industry. A lot of other schemes just place you with various broking teams but to understand the business from start to finish is a massive advantage.

I carried out a financial and strategic analysis of BMS Group's peers and competitors in the London market under the tutelage of the Chief Executive. The project took almost three months and involved internet research and interviewing senior executives. The project was viewed by the directors of the Group at their planning meeting, and I am told it was well received.

Working with senior market practitioners
One of the great advantages of joining the BMS graduate scheme is the access you gain to senior management. During your two years you will work closely with team leaders and benefit from their extensive experience.
|
BMS is a relatively small company with just over 350 employees spread between the head office in London and six other world-wide offices. Its size is one of its greatest benefits. It's a great opportunity to interact with and learn from the senior people in the company. This would be unheard of in a larger broking house.

Training & Development
We encourage and promote training and development during the programme through formal training courses, on-the-job training and study towards the industry recognised CII professional qualifications. To help with your exams, you will be given the opportunity to attend revision sessions, as well as time off to revise.
Passing your CII exams is only the start of what we hope will be a long and rewarding career. If you are a quick thinker, dedicated and hard working, the rewards and opportunities within BMS are limitless.
